Non Profit needs unified theme

I'm a web master helping a non profit and this little issue is just technically over my head.

Requirement: That drupal look like their home pages:

Home page:
http://theicarusproject.net/
(a lot of .css and javascript)
That current home page is propriatary and all pages dynamically created.

Here is the same website on static HTML pages pointing into Drupal and the forums (phpBB2) - so both open source. I count 23 pages.
http://theicarusproject.net/room42/index2.php

My best shot at Drupal at least having the colors of the home site:
http://www.theicarusproject.net/drupal/

They are happy with their pretty home site's design look and feel (though the depth of drop down menus will probably reduce - and they will probably get off their custom database - see http://theicarusproject.net/room42/index2.php)

And they are happy with their forum site:
http://theicarusproject.net/community/forums/discussionboards/

They are happy enough with this mock up I did for them:
http://theicarusproject.net/room42/index2.php (23 static pages)

Go to the bottom of that mockup page and click on "Read the rest of this story" and you will link into Drupal. They are most definitely not happy with the transition.

I just couldn't make a drupal theme of a black background - without loosing black text in the process.

They like a black background, with a white text area, with black text.

Can help this non-profit out, for free (I volunteer).

Thank You

Sure I will help you, I have sent you an email.

Some of the functionality of their current custom database can be ported to drupal in the form of modules. But first, I will help you with the custom theme and then, if you are interested, I could help you port some of the functionality they already have.
